Audio Equipment Repair

Common Ground Audio cleans and repairs most kinds of audio-related electronic equipment. We believe that if a piece of equipment can be repaired more cheaply than buying a new one, it makes sense to fix it instead of junking it. You save money, your familiar equipment gets a new lease on life, and waste is not unnecessarily produced.

What do we repair?

Equipment we repair includes, but is not limited to:
  • Mixers
  • Speakers
  • Musical instrument electronics such as keyboards, guitar and other amps, effects processors, etc.
  • Tape and other audio recorders
  • Amplifiers

We particularly specialize in repairing vintage equipment (both tube and solid state). In addition to the above, this includes:
  • Turntables
  • Receivers
  • Tuners
  • Preamplifiers (also known as pre-amps or preamps)
  • Power amplifiers

We generally do not repair televisions, computers, or other similar equipment. If you are unsure whether your equipment falls under any of these categories, please give us a call or email and we can tell you whether we fix it or not.

What does it cost?

Pricing is on a case-by-case basis, but a base rate of $40 per hour of repair work can be expected, plus the cost of parts. Simple cleanings and minor repairs often take less than an hour and may not require any parts. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your repair needs.
